On 7th March 2025, AIC NIPER-Guwahati Foundation, in association with the Intellectual Property Facilitation Cell (IPFC) at ICRISAT, Hyderabad, hosted an incredibly insightful "IPR Awareness Session" at the NIPER Guwahati Seminar Hall, proudly supported by the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India.

Highlights of the Session:

We were delighted to welcome around 150 participants from diverse backgrounds, including MSMEs, startups, researchers, student innovators, and faculty members. The event featured engaging discussions on IPR basics, filing strategies for patents and free filing benefits offered by the ICRISAT IP Facilitation Cell (IPFC), with support from the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India.

To strengthen the startup ecosystem, AIC NIPER-Guwahati Foundation welcomed the newly onboarded incubatees as we continue our mission to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the healthcare and waste management sectors. 

As part of NE-BiC2025, we successfully signed MoUs with promising startups, further strengthening our commitment to supporting cutting-edge research, product development, and market expansion.

Day 2 Highlights:

The second and final day of North East Bio-Incubators Conference 2025 (NE-BiC 2025) was nothing short of inspiring! With insightful discussions, groundbreaking innovations, and promising collaborations, the day was packed with knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities.

1. Dr. Pooja Saxena (Sr. Consultant, Ministry of Home Affairs) delivered an insightful session on "Pandemic Preparedness in the Pharmaceutical Sector", highlighting crucial strategies for resilience and readiness
2. Student Pitching Session: Young innovators took the stage to present their groundbreaking ideas before an esteemed panel of judges. Their creativity, passion, and vision showcased the immense potential of the next generation of biotech entrepreneurs.

To raise awareness about Breast Cancer, AIC NIPER-Guwahati Foundation organized an insightful webinar on 29th October 2024. We were honored to have Dr. Pompi Daimari Buragohain, Asst. Professor at Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Institute, as our guest speaker.

Through the session, the participants gained crucial information about breast cancer, including risk factors, symptoms, and early detection methods. The session also encouraged everyone to take proactive steps in their health, including regular screenings and self-examinations.

In view of Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2024, AIC NIPER-Guwahati Foundation, in association with NIPER Guwahati, organized a "Breast Cancer Awareness" rally at Changsari Market Area, Silbharal, Assam on 29th October 2024. A total of 66 students from various departments of NIPER Guwahati joined hands with us along with the faculty members, Dr. Neh Nupur and Dr. Uday Kiran Roopavath, to spread crucial awareness and support the fight against breast cancer.

On 19th October 2024, AIC NIPER Guwahati Foundation organized an engaging expert talk titled "Empowering Innovation: IP & Tech Transfer Insights". Hosted in a hybrid format, the session drew participation from both online attendees and 120 students in the Mini Auditorium, NIPER Guwahati.

We were delighted to host Mr. Shivakumar R., Founder & Managing Attorney of Shiv & Attorneys, as our esteemed guest speaker (via online mode).

His expertise shed light on crucial topics of IP & Tech Transfer, including:

1. Effective IP Strategies: Developing and implementing IP strategies that protect innovations and provide a competitive edge.
2. Patents: Basics and background of types of patents.
3. Patent Drafting and Prosecution: Best practices for creating robust and defensible patents.
4. Case Studies: Real-world examples showcasing successful IP and technology transfer projects.
5. Challenges and Solutions: Addressing common hurdles in IP management and technology transfer with actionable solutions.

AIC NIPER-Guwahati Foundation successfully organized a webinar on "Free IP Facilitation Support by ICRISAT's IPFC" on 27th September 2024. The session, held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, featured Ms. Sravanti Vedula, Associate Manager &ndash Innovation Management at ICRISAT, Hyderabad, as the guest speaker.

The primary objective of the webinar was to educate start-ups, entrepreneurs, students, faculty, and researchers about the IP facilitation services available through government schemes. The webinar provided valuable insights and guidance on availing free IP filing support, empowering participants to protect and leverage their innovations effectively. The participants also interacted with the guest speaker during the Q&A round getting expert guidance and suggestions in matters related to IP filing.

AIC NIPER-Guwahati Foundation organized "Ideathon #1.0" on 3rd July 2024, coinciding with International Plastic Bag Free Day. This competition brought together students, researchers, and scientists to propose innovative solutions for waste management.
The event aimed to foster ideas that promote sustainability and a plastic bag-free environment, emphasizing effective waste management strategies. We were privileged to have 17 participants from all over India showcase their creative solutions, which were evaluated by esteemed judges Prof. Ajay Kalamdhad from IIT Guwahati and Mr. Tanu Sonowal from Feedback Foundation.
Three outstanding individuals have been honored with certificates of achievement and generous cash prizes, including Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000, and Rs. 2000, respectively.

On the occasion of "International Plastic Bag Free Day" on 3rd July 2024, AIC NIPER Guwahati Foundation in association with NIPER Guwahati organized a &ldquoWorkshop on Solid Waste Management&rdquo from 11:00 am onwards at NIPER Guwahati Campus.
During the session, Mr. Tanu Sonowal from Feedback Foundation gave an awareness talk to the participants. His talk was mainly focused on different ways of segregation of Waste and to create mass mobilization and behavioral change in the society for the creation of clean and green earth.

AIC NIPER Guwahati Foundation in collaboration with AIC T-Hub Foundation organized an online awareness session on "Lab-To-Market Program" on 10th June 2024.

The esteemed speaker on the session was Dr. Gaurav Gupta, PhD, Manager, AIC T-Hub Foundation, Hyderabad.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, AIC NIPER-Guwahati Foundation organized a webinar session titled &ldquoThe Legal and Regulatory Framework for Environment Protection in India. The keynote speaker on the webinar session was Dr. Kameswar Rao AV, Vice President-EHS, Stelis Biopharma Ltd.
